When Heidi and Jeff’s wedding first appeared on my screen I knew I had to share it with you. The historic property that the ceremony and reception were held at with its elaborate gardens was the picture-perfect backdrop for this lovely wedding. With a gorgeous bride (with exceptional taste-wait until you see her dress!), simple yet beautiful tablescapes, and a dancefloor that never emptied, it was a magical day captured by the talented Alicia Ann Photographs.
From the photographer…“The wedding and reception were held at a historic CT landmark in the beautiful Litchfield Hills, Bellamay Ferriday House in Bethlehem. The property was covered with prestine gardens and trees which were handled with meticulous care.A tall billowing tent was erected for the reception. Heidi had a vison of her wedding being in a country setting and she found it!
Mother Nature did try to put a damper on the day. It rained most of the day which made us prepare for plan B, a ceremony inside the tent. Surprisingly, the rain stopped within 30 minutes of the ceremony! Heidi and Jeff wanted to have the ceremony moved back to the original location nestled in the gardens beside the house. With the help of Groomsmen, Florist and ESE we were able to move the ceremony arch, wiped down benches and set up the musicians within 20 minutes . As the processional started, the sun burst through the clouds and transformed everything into a beautiful summer day. The gardens were glistening from the raindrops – just magical!
The Pastor incorporated lovely religious psalms & sermon for the ceremony, which was a must have for the couple.
The caterer didn’t skip a beat switching the cocktail hour spilling outside the reception tent. Guests were greeted with trays of Hors d’oeuvre and his and hers signature drinks. Heidi wanted a country chic design for the tables. She purchased blue pinstriped table runners and blue ticking napkins. The lust flower arrangement made the setting perfect! An elaborate and lovely displayed buffet dinner was provided for the guests. The dancefloor was never empty with the DJ on top of the tunes. Heidi’s father surprised the couple with a vintage Rolls Royce at the end of the night to whisk them away in style. A magical day with a lovely group of family and friends!”
