carats & confetti is constantly working to feature the very best of Canadian East Coast weddings and ideas, and we love to receive your submissions! Please read through the following guidelines carefully to give your work the best chance of being accepted for publication.
carats & confetti is a Canadian East Coast wedding blog, so we only accept real weddings that have taken place in The East Coast or have some sort of East Coast component to it. To submit, go to the How Do I Submit A Real Wedding FAQ below.
We love receiving styled shoot submissions, and accept features from anywhere in the world. Priority is given to shoots which offer the widest range of inspiration, i.e. fashion, decor, cake, stationery, etc. To submit, send us an email with a link to a selection of images via Dropbox(or similar), as well as full information about the suppliers involved.
Engagement/Anniversary/Couple/Bridal Showers/Bachelorette Parties
While we do accept shoots/features in these categories, we give priority to real weddings and styled shoots. However, if your feature has extraordinary elements such as styling, location, or an amazing story, we’d love to hear from you. To submit, send us an email with a link to a selection of images via Dropbox(or similar), as well as full information about the suppliers involved.
Who can submit real weddings and shoots for publication?
Please note that we can only accept submissions from photographers and videographers, not from couples directly. If you are a bride or groom please ask your photographer or videographer about submitting. Having your photographer/videographer submit ensures we have the correct copyright requirements to feature your beautiful day and the professionals can deal with all the technical stuff such as resizing photos.
What do you look for in the photos?
Details, details, details- everything from the Bride’s shoes to the place settings. We look for gorgeous (natural, light-filled, minimally process) photography and a sincere love story of the happy couple. All photos, both portrait and landscape, must be at least 1024px wide and without watermarks.
How long will it take before I know if my submission is successful?
We aim to respond to all submissions within 1 week.
How long will it take before a feature is published?
This depends on the nature of the feature as well as our editorial schedule. We try to publish all real weddings within 1 month after receiving all images and information. If your submission is time-sensitive, please email us to discuss.
What is your exclusivity policy?
We prefer to feature submissions that haven’t been featured on other local wedding blogs – this is so we can ensure the content on carats and confetti is fresh and inspiring for our readers. We do, however, accept features that have already appeared in print publications, and that have been published on national or international blogs – please let us know if this is the case, so that we can ensure that the first publication’s exclusivity period is respected. Once a wedding or shoot has featured on carats and confetti, we ask that you wait at least 30 days before submitting it elsewhere. Please note: If you have already submitted a feature to another local blog, please wait until their consideration period is finished before submitting to us.
How do I submit a real wedding?
In addition to the information below, please submit 50-70 of your favorite photos that you feel best capture the big day and the vendors that made it all happen. Non-watermarked images at 1024px wide for both landscape and portrait images. Send images via a Dropbox link (or similar) with your submission via email.
What To Include?
Please have the Bride answer the following questions and include in your submission.
Thank you so much for considering carats and confetti as the place to share your work! We are grateful and look forward to collaborating with you!
